December was a busy month for our managing partner. Following the 2025 FIA General Assembly in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on the 12th of December, Niall Geaney, who is the current Vice President of the FIA Formula One and Formula E Cost Cap Adjudication panel, was elected as a new Judge of the FIA – (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) International Tribunal and International Court of Appeal.

The FIA International Tribunal and International Court of Appeal are the highest judicial forum for any global motorsport dispute in relation to FIA sanctioned motorsport competitions (all four wheeled competitions).

“I have been engaged with the FIA since December 2021 when elected to the Cost Cap Adjudication Panel for Formula One and Formula E, where I currently sit as Vice President, and am delighted to now also be joining the IT and ICA for the coming years ahead. I have been a dedicated motorsport fan since I held a matchbox car in my hands over 40 years ago so these appointments mean a huge amount to me.”

Niall follows in the footsteps of the late Reggie Redmond who was Ireland’s last representative on the FIA Courts.

The FIM – (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) General Assembly met the previous Friday in Lausanne, Switzerland and Niall was also confirmed as one of their newest panel Judges on the FIM List of International Judges (LJI).

The List of International Judges hear motorcycle cases on the FIM judicial panels -

CDI – International Disciplinary Court

TIA – International Court of Appeal

TAC - Arbitration and Advisory Tribunal

The FIM is the international federation governing all matters connected with motorcycling activities (sporting & non-sporting) and is the sole competent authority in motorcycle sport as recognised by the IOC.

The FIM represents over 120 National Federations across the globe. The LJI Judges hear cases involving multiple different disciplines such as Moto GP, Enduro, Trials, SuperMoto, Motorcross, Supercross, Cross County, E-Bike and Track Racing with over 270 worldwide championships.

“I am very much looking forward to using my experience to serve the FIM for the years ahead”.

He might also now complete restoration of his 1978 Vespa!
